Karen Mazur (b.1969, Cleveland, Ohio) is an interdisciplinary artist, cultural worker, and educator.

Born of 2nd generation Americans now rooted with my family in New Mexico. Primarily based in the languages of design and photography, I work with collage, paint, typography, video, and found objects with a strong sense of purpose around the reuse of materials. A lifelong fascination with theatre and film feeds an ever-evolving interest in installation and playing with light. Exploring relationships. With our places, work, histories; the ways humans connect with each other and their environments. Currently in the prototype stage of an installation series using moving pictures and sound to explore some of these ideas in a deeper way. Memory cabinets and Wonder Rooms.

As an educator, I am curious, empathetic, and present. I am a lifelong learner and work to inspire the same in my students. Currently I work with 9-12 graders in a public high school. See my teaching philosophy here.
